Come join us. Our program
is growing, so don't be left out. Our class format constantly changes, so you will
never be bored. Whether you are a veteran or a rookie at yoga, you will benefit from
our classes.
Fitness fads may come and go, but
Yoga has been a worldwide workout staple for over 5,000 years. Adding Yoga to your
life will help relieve tension, release stress and anxiety. Youll increase
muscle tone, gain flexibility, strengthen your immune system and boost your energy level.
Our yoga philosophy is all about
balance and positive energy. In our lives and our workouts we push ourselves hard,
which is great, but it needs balance. Yoga enhances overall health and provides
stress relief, while working you out from head to toe. You feel like you had a break
from the world, and like you got a full body massage. Bottom line, you have to
experience it for yourself. Try it once and you will see what all the hooplah is
about.
Through the practice of Yoga,
reconnect with the innate joy and goodness that is you. Yoga is a transformational
journey, and is one that anyone, regardless of age, size, fitness level or background, can
begin. You don't have to be a pretzel to enjoy yoga and you don't have to change
religions. (Yoga is a philosophy, not a religion.)
Our Studio is an inviting space for
adults and children located in South Overland Park, KS. We are the preferred place
to give Yoga a try. Our clean, warm and inviting studio features two yoga rooms with
bamboo hard wood floors, massage therapy, organic pedicure spa, hypnotherapy and energy
work, child care, yoga shop, soft lighting, and inspiring musical accompaniment to many of
the classes. We now offer child care for our Monday to Friday morning classes free
of charge!
We are offering variety of Yoga and
Pilates classes and specialize in those new to the practice of yoga. Our instructors
are dedicated to inspire and support you in finding the exact alignment in each yoga pose
that is right for you. As we energize and revitalize all systems of the body,
emotional and spiritual health follows.
The classes are conveniently timed
to fit almost everyones schedule and are held in our easily accessible studio with
plenty of parking space. We are located just two blocks East from Metcalf and one
block South of 151st Street on Broadmoor Street (click for map here).
You may join our yoga community at
any time, contacting us first if
you have questions. Feel free to check our schedule for information on our variety
of classes and workshops by clicking here. We also provide

New
Day Yoga Studio is becoming a "Green Business". Currently we are harvesting
solar heat to keep our studio worm and to supplement our Hot Yoga Classes with the use of
solar panels. You may view our solar panels on the South side of the building. The average
winter temperature input from the panels is 160 F. In addition to that we use timer light
switches to reduce the amount of energy spent on lighting our space. Most of the light
bulbs used are low watt none heat producing and very energy efficient. In the near future
we plan to install Photovoltaic Solar Panels and reduce our energy needs significantly. If
you are interested in becoming part of our project please let us know. We accept help and
donations from anyone and in return we offer relaxing yoga and massage sessions. Thank you
for your work in preserving our planet for future generations and please enjoy the video
below.

Before Yoga
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that will not get in the way of
stretching. Blue jeans are definitely out. Do not eat for at least an hour before
scheduled practice; some students prefer to wait even longer.
Hint to students with long hair: pull your
hair back and secure it slightly to the side of your head. Do not secure it exactly at the
back of your head as it will be uncomfortable when you lie down or do shoulder stand.
During Class The most important thing to remember during a
practice, whether in class or at home, is that practicing is an exploration. Each pose is
an experiment. Go slowly and listen to your body. Learn to determine whether you are
pushing yourself too hard or lightly challenging yourself to try a little more. And
remember to breath. When you are breathing in harmony with your movements, you are paying
attention in a deep way. Paying attention not only prevents injury but also is at the
heart of what yoga is all about.
After Yoga After the relaxation pose at the end of your
session, note how you feel. If there is a feeling of lightness and equanimity in your body
and nervous system, you are on the right track. If you are too sore the next day after
your session, you have overdone it.
Remember that yoga is not about touching your
toes, but what you learn about yourself on the way down to touch your toes.
Compassionate discipline is the key.
What to bring to class Wear comfortable clothing but nothing too
baggy. Well supply a towel to wipe your brow but we suggest you bring a water bottle
and a yoga mat. We do have a limited supply of yoga mats to borrow.
Yoga etiquette Please arrive no later then 5 minutes before
class as often as possible. If you need to leave the class early its polite to let
the instructor know before the beginning of class, then try to position yourself by the
door as to not disturb others upon your departure.
Please turn off cell phones for the
duration of the class!
Free Parking around the studio. Bring a friend and receive a free class.
We are now offering additional yoga classes, massage therapy,
fitness classes and personal training, yoga one-on-one with your favorite yoga
instructors, and childcare. Our schedule
has been updated for the Summer season beginning June 6th and as you will see more classes
have been added. We are pleased to have your favorite instructors as well as some
new faces.
We appreciate you continuing
to enjoy yoga with us.
We are dedicated to the success of New Day Yoga and hope to see you soon.
