Doug Swenson began his study of yoga in 1969. He has had the fortune of studying with many great teachers including Dr. Ernest Wood, K. Pattabhi Jois, Ramanand Patel and others.

Doug is a master yoga practitioner, philosopher, poet and dedicated health advocate. He has incorporated influences from several different yoga systems along with his passion for nutrition and the environment to develop his unique approach. Over the years he has authored several books; “Yoga Helps”, “The Diet That Loves You Most”, “Power Yoga for Dummies” and “Mastering The Secrets of Yoga Flow”.

Doug travels extensively offering workshops, retreats and teacher training courses around the world. Don't miss the opportunity to study with one of the world’s top instructors. Doug's classes are always invigorating and inspirational and his supportive style of teaching and keen sense of humor send his students home with a smile on their face and a softness within their heart.

Class Schedule

Friday     5:30pm - 8:30pm
~ Yoga Sequencing / Building a Practice:
This class - will educate the students on the importance of proper yoga sequencing and how to build yoga routines. A sample class will be given to experience the concepts.
~ Hatha Yoga – Soft Style Practice: In this class we will practice a variety of postures using a more restorative approach and non muscle resistance vinyasa.

Saturday     10:00am – 1:00pm
~ Breathing Basics:
An explanation and practice of several different Pranayama techniques.
~ Ashtanga Vinyasa – 1st Level Asana Routine: This class is a gentle introduction to Doug’s own unique Fluid approach to Ashtanga Yoga. This is based on first level Ashtanga Yoga Format. Class includes yoga adjustments and pranayama. All level; welcome.

Saturday     3:00pm - 6:00pm
~ Avoiding and Overcoming Injury:
This is a very beneficial topic in today’s yoga society and will be addressed openly, giving suggestions and solutions for common problems.
~ Sadhana Yoga Chi (Fluid Power): A very soothing arrangement of soft and hard yoga asanas, connected together with mostly light (non - muscle resistance vinyasa) and some challenging  (muscles resistance vinyasa). You will enjoy the challenge, achieve a variety of new poses and move with fluid power. When finished, drift into a blissful deep relaxation followed by a guided meditation.

 Sunday     2:00pm – 5:00pm
~ Mastering the Secrets of Yoga Flow:
The main focus of this class is centered around the fluid movements of soft and hard form vinyasa and how to expand this philosophy to create flow in your daily life. A connection is made to help create a flow in your diet, at work in relationships and throughout your daily life.
~ Yoga as a Business: Wrap up the weekend with an enjoyable and simple class. This class reviews the different avenues of yoga as a business – including, suggestions and challenges.

Belly Dance, a very ancient and beautiful form of dance, has given birth to many different styles. With skillful control of isolated body movements, belly dance is an uplifting expression of femininity.

Improve your body while learning a new form of dance.  Class instruction will cover the basic movements of this powerful dance form, including choreography and veil dancing.
