Descriptions Level 1 Classes Kid's Yoga - We are committed to bringing the joy of yoga to children and families. We concentrate on developing our children's awareness of their own bodies, minds and emotions, and fostering an understanding of how to begin to self-manage, self-care using the ancient techniques of yoga poses, games, projects, breathing, and creative visualizations. Each class is limited to 15 students and provides lots of hands on specialized care for each child. Gentle Yoga - This is a class for both new and continuing yoga students integrating several yoga systems. We will focus on flexibility, breath, balance and incorporate postures that allow us to stretch and fully use our bodies in a supportive atmosphere with individually modified poses. Wear loose and comfortable clothing; shorts and t-shirts are great....whatever makes you happy! Give yoga a try and you'll love the benefits for your body and mind. Gentle Hot Yoga - Influenced by the research of Bikram Choudhury, Gentle Hot Yoga is a series of 26 poses set in a specific sequence and performed in a heated room. This yoga is performed with synchronized deep rhythmic breathing and movement; linking traditional hatha yoga postures together in a sequenced order. Students work at their own level in each posture and will be shown variations as needed. Prior yoga experience is not required. Youll sweat out toxins, increase physical and mental strength, and create muscle-skeletal balance. Based on proven physiological responses of the human body to induce a state of deep quiet. Drink plenty of water the day of practice and after. Please bring your own mat, towel, and water. Level
2 Classes Core Conditioning - 30 minutes of traditional abdominal and lower back strength movements combined with Pilates and Yoga based exercises. Hatha Yoga -
One of our most popular classes because it is great for beginners and those who are
advanced in their practice. In Hatha Yoga we work with one asana (pose) at a time, with an
emphasis on flexibility, balance and proper body alignment. If your body is too
tight, too stressed, overused and abused, Hatha is the place for you. Kundalini Yoga - These classes typically include stretching, held postures, energetic movement exercises, mantra (chanting), pranayam (breath work), meditation and relaxation. Much more then just a system of physical exercise, Kundalini Yoga activates and channels energy to create optimum health and expanded awareness. Level 3 Classes Hot Vinyasa - This yoga is performed with synchronized deep rhythmic breathing and movement; linking traditional hatha yoga postures together in a sequenced order with sun salutations in between postures. Students work at their own level in each posture and will be shown variations as needed. Prior yoga experience is recommended, but not required. Postures linked into a flow and held in a room heated to mid-ninety degrees. Drawing from Iyengar-inspired vinyasa (flow), this class includes focus on alignment and breath and often includes pranayama practice. Challenging class open to all levels. Drink plenty of water the day of practice and after. Please bring your own mat, towel, and water. This method of Yoga involves synchronizing the breath with progressive series of posturesa process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs.
